  • Why are Ingellen’s transceivers much cheaper than Cisco, HP, or Foundry?

  • Suppliers such as Cisco, HP, Foundry and many others buy their transceivers from the third party manufacturers, e.g. Ingellen. They just add their logo & sticker to the transceivers but sell them at higher margins.
  • Can I install Ingellen’s transceivers on Cisco, HP, and Juniper equipment without affecting the warranty of the equipment the transceivers are being installed into?

  • It is a misconception to think that using the third party transceivers will void your switch warranty. The truth is they do not. And more importantly, it is against the law for the OEM to say it does. The Federal Trade Commission's Magnuson-Moss Act protects consumers from this misconception! Under this Act, consumers’ warranties cannot include tie-in sales. In other words, Manufacturers cannot oblige you to buy their transceivers to keep their switch warranties valid.
